Today in Class...

Today we went over yesterday's quiz.

We also started looking at infinite sequences (section 1.6); this is a bit of a review from last semester.

Assignment #1 is due tomorrow, Feb. 8th! 10% per day is the penalty for handing it in late.

I've you've checked the calendar, you'll notice that your first test is on Wednesday, February 13th.

one-sided limits

Today we finished up section 1.2 by looking at functions that are continuous for all x-values, what to do if they are not. We also looked at section 1.3 (One-Sided Limits) and talked about evaluating the limit of a function 'from the left,' and 'from the right.' Sometimes they are equal to each other, and sometimes they are not (when they're not, we say the limit does not exist).

Quiz on Wednesday, Feb. 6th! 2-3 questions on topics we've been discussing in class.
