UNB's Calculus Challenge Exam

For all those interested in attending UNB in the fall, there is an opportunity to write a Calculus Challenge Exam - so you don't take the same (mostly the same) course over again (Math 1003).
Click here to download information about the exam, or visit the following website: http://www.math.unb.ca/challenge.
It costs $30 to write the exam, and is taking place this Thursday, June 5^th from 6-9 pm.

If you are not interested in writing this exam, but you still don't want to take the same course over again, I recommend that you register for Math 1053 which is an "Enriched Introduction to Calculus."

Derivatives of Trig Functions (sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, & cot need to be memorized!)

This week, we only had two classes; Tuesday & Wednesday.

On Tuesday we covered topics in 7.3 - Derivatives of Other Trigonometric Functions. We looked at examples similar to Examples 3-5 (p. 317-318).
On Wednesday we started looking at section 7.4 - Applications. We looked at a velocity question (similar to Example 1 on p. 321) and a related rates question (similar to Example 3 on p. 323).

A reminder that all schools in NB are closed tomorrow, May 2^nd for Council Day, and that schools in the Fredericton area are closed on Monday, May 5^th due to NBTA Local Branch Meetings.

Joe is travelling east toward the intersection at a speed of 60 km/h, and Dave is travelling south toward the intersection at a speed of 50 km/h.
